Dan Gibbons started teaching at Champion Ballroom Academy in 1992 and has made it his second home ever since. Like a big dance family! Through the years Dan has dabbled in international style Ballroom and Latin as well as social dancing and teaching couples to prepare for big events. Dan is former Professional Showdance champion with partner Miki Jennings for their rendition of "Image." Dan is an imaginative choreographer and loves to create new routines for competition and events.
Since 1983 Stephen Showers has won acclaim as a professional dance instructor in both Arizona and California. He is accomplished in American and International styles for all of the Ballroom, Latin, Swing, and Nightclub dances. Stephen is one of the few instructors in San Diego who has competed in nearly every style of dancesport.
Megan has a passion for ballroom dance and loves sharing that passion with her students! After being introduced to ballroom dancing in college, Megan knew it was something she wanted to make a permanent fixture in her life. She currently competes in the professional division in the International style of both Ballroom and Latin, with her husband and fellow instructor, David Fan. She loves helping students no matter their goals: getting ready for the competition floor, learning how to dance socially, or putting something special together for their next big event!
David believes ballroom dancing should be for everyone! Whether your goal is to just try something new, to have that wedding dance you’ve always dreamed of, or even to go compete and perform at the highest levels, he can help develop a program that fits you. He's been teaching since 2016 and currently competes in the professional division for the International style of both Ballroom and Latin. He brings a strong artistic background, a good sense of fun, and can’t wait to share the joy of ballroom dancing with you!
Ukraine-born Yelyzaveta started dancing at the age of 6 and has taught since 14. She moved to the US in 2016 to pursue her dance career and has titles at the national and international levels including World Champion and Blackpool Dance Festivals. She has always loved the latin dances and has been dedicating her time in the US to improve her skills in Salsa, Bachata, Zouk, and Kizomba. She also competes and performs while continuing to learn and improve. Her goal, as an instructor, is to share information to help her students become beter versions of themselves
